How does the word counter calculate total word count?
Words are counted by trimming leading and trailing whitespace and splitting the remaining text across one or more consecutive whitespace characters (/\\s+/). Punctuation attached to words is preserved as part of the token.
What is the difference between characters with and without spaces?
Characters with spaces measures total string length including whitespace and line breaks. Characters without spaces strips all spaces, tabs, and newlines (/\\s/g) to provide pure character metrics required for academic or translation billing.
How are sentences and paragraphs detected?
Sentences are counted by identifying terminal punctuation marks (periods, exclamation marks, and question marks followed by whitespace or end-of-text). Paragraphs are counted by splitting text across double newline breaks (\\n\\s*\\n).
How is reading time and speaking time estimated?
Reading time is calculated assuming an average adult silent reading speed of 200 words per minute. Speaking time is calculated assuming an average conversational speech delivery rate of 130 words per minute.
Is my text uploaded or stored on any server?
Never. All statistical calculations execute locally in your browser JavaScript runtime. As soon as you close or refresh the tab, your text is completely cleared from device memory.
