How to Download and Open e-PAN Card PDF Online (Official Portals)

Learn how to download your electronic PAN card from the official Income Tax, Protean (NSDL), or UTIITSL portals, decrypt the PDF, and prepare it for online submissions.

Official e-PAN Download Routes

Under the Income Tax Department of India, citizens can obtain a digitally signed electronic Permanent Account Number (e-PAN) in PDF format through three legitimate authorized channels.

Route 1: Instant e-PAN via Income Tax Portal (Free)

  1. Visit the Income Tax e-Filing portal: https://www.incometax.gov.in/.
  2. Under Quick Links, click Instant E-PAN.
  3. Select Check Status/ Download PAN.
  4. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number and authenticate with the OTP received on your mobile.
  5. Download your digitally signed e-PAN PDF document.

    6. Route 2: Protean (formerly NSDL) e-PAN Download

    1. Visit the Protean online services portal.
    2. Enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, and Date of Birth (MM/YYYY).
    3. Authenticate with OTP to download. *(Free within 30 days of PAN issuance/update).*

      4. Route 3: UTIITSL Portal

      1. Visit the UTIITSL PAN card portal.
      2. Provide your PAN, Date of Birth, and CAPTCHA code to receive the secure PDF download link.
